 Our new series will present practical ideas to achieve financial freedom that are easy for everyone to get started. With a bit of common sense advice, you can get closer to financial independence sooner than you might think.Does planning for your future and the idea of becoming financially free confuse you because it seems complex? Is it tough or impossible to save money when you can barely pay your necessary bills? These type of excuses can hold you back forever if you let them. Consider why you need to get a handle on your money right away:

• it is impossible to count on the government or your employer to provide your needs now or in the future and you need to have a plan;
• to buy major items such as a house or car, financial planning is key.

Many people think that having a job and paying into the system is security, but it simply is not. Employers go out of business, the government cuts back or eliminates programs and then you are left in the cold. Having a plan alleviates these worries, gives you greater financial freedom now and offer hope and security for your future. Additionally, purchasing all your major items on credit makes them cost much more because of high interest payments and makes you a slave to debt for the rest of your life.
