Financial freedom through faith seems like a good place to start when you consider that the personal savings rate in the United States is the lowest in 73 years. Add to this that credit card debt averages over $9,000 per household and people are clearly living beyond their means.Saving and budgeting are key elements to attain financial freedom. However, Americans seem to be unable to make ends meet. Carla J. Cargle, finance author, states, “Changing your mindset is the first step toward financial freedom and economic independence. A person’s mindset determines their future. A poverty mindset reaps poverty, but a wealthy mindset reaps wealth. Wealth is not wearable or drivable. Wealth is not in your money, wealth is in your mind and soul. It’s measured by what you own, not what you earn. Just remember that wealth must manifest itself with your mind before it can exist in the tangible. Don’t allow society to make you believe that wealth is only about being a multimillionaire or billionaire.”
Americans are tending to focus on materialism and there is an ongoing cycle of consumption and poverty. By focusing on your faith, rather than materialism and wealth, all good things will come to you with hard work, good planning and patience. Consider that if you own little but owe nothing, you are still rich. You are not pinned down by debts and encumbered by a vicious cycle of earning and spending so you are financially free.
By learning about financial freedom through faith, you will understand that financial independence is being debt-free and comfortable with what you have, not necessarily excessive wealth.
