One of the little known financial freedom discoveries is that you need to get rid of your emotional baggage to move on physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially. If you feel unable to become financially free, it could be your subconscious feelings getting in the way.

Emotional baggage is the bad stuff we pick up along our path in life that we continue to silently carry even after we’ve moved past a negative situation. Consider your early teaching about money and work. If you were told to get a job, you probably never even thought about starting your own business and becoming the commander of your own destiny ship. This type of restricting thought pattern in adulthood can hold you back from the financial freedom you crave.

Other emotional baggage that prevents us from enjoying financial freedom include insecurity, competition and trying to relive certain times in our life. For example, purchasing a handbag to impress others rather than please yourself is insecure and competitive. Reliving times in your life could mean going gambling because you used to do it with a former companion to try to recapture that “fun” feeling you had together. Not only will this eat up your bank account, it will leave you feeling emotionally empty.

By coming to terms with our own negative feelings, we can finally walk the path of our own success by broadening our horizons with confidence. One of the simplest and yet most difficult financial freedom discoveries is to find out your emotional baggage so you can get rid of it and become free.
