One of the greatest financial freedom discoveries is within yourself – are you really happy with what you’ve got or do you want more? We can imagine our lives would be perfect if we were rich but that is really just a myth. Often you can find joy in your current situation just by taking control of your circumstances and making the most of what you have.

Money does not make a happy person or keep a person satisfied. Of course, we need to be able to pay for our bills and basic needs to avoid stress but to think that money is the root of all happiness is untrue. Much like overeating, having lots of money may not make us feel better and may just offer a temporary mood boost.

Start by being honest with yourself. Can you survive on your current salary and bank account with a few minor adjustments? Do you need to supplement your income to get by comfortably rather than pinching pennies? Is your debt getting overwhelming and how do you intend to resolve it? Do you desire wealth and how to you expect to achieve that goal?

By dealing with the truth, you can create a better destiny and take control of your finances. Sometimes all it takes is a few honest minutes and a change of perspective to make one of the greatest financial freedom discoveries.
